#CarefreeBlackKids2k16 Brings Levity and Reminds Us Why We Love the Internet
Talk about a week where you have to try realllllllly hard to find the good.
Following the killing of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling at the hands of police, and then the shooting of police officers in Dallas - many people are exhausted, angry, and full of despair. People have been mobilizing with protests, writing their representatives, trying to find ways to ending systemic injustice. Whether you have mobilized or are just consumed with sadness and grief - it's exhausting and self care is important.
In an effort to bring some levity and uplifting, Heben Nigatu started the hashtag #CarefreeBlackKids2k16.
