Florida Inmates Spent 4th of July Comforting Scared Shelter Dogs

A program at the Brevard county jail facilitated the opportunity for inmates to comfort shelter dogs during 4th of July celebrations.

The inmates provided comfort by reading to, playing with, and feeding the pups during peak hours of celebration... aka, scary fireworks.

According to the Sheriff, this not only helped the dogs feel calm and more secure, it also instilled a sense of purpose and compassion in the inmates, hopefully aiding them in their transition back into society.

Here's the original post the Brevard County Sheriff placed on Facebook.
