Moby Has a New Restaurant and It's Helping the World

Even though his appearance wouldn't lead one to assume, Moby has always been a bit of a badass. When people thought he was selling out by letting automotive companies use his songs, he proved the haters wrong by donating the profits to environmental agencies. His thought process was simple: If not his song, they'd use someone else's who wouldn't donate the money. He made the game work to his advantage. Well done, Moby, well done.

And while his musical presence seems stuck in the early 2000's (or earlier) - his social conscious isn't. Moby announced that all of the profits from his new vegan restaurant, Little Pine, will be donated to animal welfare organizations.

Located in Silver Lake, the organic, plant-based restaurant serves Mediterranean-inspired vegan fare and also features a small shop with artisanal home goods curated by the bald man himself. He'll be giving 100% of profits to a ton of different groups: The Humane Society, Mercy for Animals, Farm Sanctuary, Sea Shepard, PETA, and others.

In a press release, Moby explained: “Opening little pine was never meant to be a conventional entrepreneurial endeavor. I want it to represent veganism in a really positive light, and also help to support the animal welfare organizations who do such remarkable work.”

While other restaurants have been known to donate a portion of proceeds - it isn't often you hear about someone donating 100%. Keep up the good work, Moby.
