Spring Forward: Reset More than Just Your Clock
Birds are chirping, the sun is shining and there's a warm breeze in the air... at last, Spring has returned!

Spring has always been a time for rebirth and new awakenings; it's a time for a clean slate and to prepare for the next phase. While we reset our clocks for Daylight Saving Time this past weekend, Spring is also a wonderful time for reflection and personal growth.
Lately I've been reflecting on life, love and loss. After feeling slightly stir-crazy from winter captivity, I did what always helps with my anxiety- I went outside and took a long springtime stroll.
Staying cooped up can take a toll on both your mental and physical health, often creating tension in both personal and professional relationships. I've discovered that stress has also caused me forget simple things, snap at others I love, become clumsy and lose important belongings; none of which am I proud of.
Instead of taking aggression on others or your stress spiraling out of control, there are many helpful ways to break that winter funk.
Clean House
For the past few months I've been on a mission to stay organized- placing things in strategic places so they're easier to find, managing my planner and meetings more thoroughly, purging old clothes and going through paperwork I've avoided all winter. Not only will this all save you time, it plays a big part in your overall life outlook and sense of control! I've been much more at peace since sorting through unnecessary objects, stresses and unhealthy relationships.
Volunteer
Whether you're interested in getting involved in a political campaign this election year or volunteering at a local food bank, there are endless opportunities to lend a helping hand. What goes around comes around, so if you find the time to assist someone in need, I guarantee you will have fun with it, too!
Find a New Hobby
We've heard this all before, but hobbies are so crucial to balance and everyday happiness! Finding a pastime works wonders to soothe the soul, even on your most stressful days. Photography, drawing, exercise, cooking, comedy, museums, music, writing and reading are just a few of my favorites.
Healthy Habits
Now that winter has passed and we're no longer "falling back," let's think about what we can do to brighten someone's springtime day, whether rain, snow or shine. Cleaning house, taking a deep breath and practicing healthier habits will be sure to result in a much more optimistic tomorrow (and kinder you!).
