Video of a Little Girl Asking Her Divorced Parents to Be Friends Is Adorable & Heart-Wrenching

Breakups are hard. Throw a child into the mix and things can get really messy. A 6-year-old girl named Tiana is melting the heart of millions in her video asking for her divorced mom and dad to be friends.

Her mom, Cherish Sherry, uploaded the video to Facebook. Apparently Tiana's mom had been arguing with her father, and after Tiana overheard, she told her mom she just wants her parents to be friends.

Tiana first asks the question, "Mom, are you ready to be his friend?" Then it proceeds to get even cuter...

Some video highlights include the following wise words from Tiana"

"I’m not trying to be mean. I just want all of us to be friends, and if I can be nice I think all of us can be nice too. I’m not trying to be mean but I’m trying to do my best in my heart, nothing else than that. I want you mom, my dad, everyone to be friends. I want everyone to be smiling…"

"…For you and my dad, mom, I think you can do it. I think you can settle your mean heights down a little to short heights."

"If we live in a world where everyone is being mean, everyone's gonna be a monster..."

(then it gets real philosophical about monsters and eating people, and only monsters being left)

This video really showcases two things:

  • Kids can be super cute

  • Kids usually have a pretty good idea of what's going on, so be sure to teach through example
