TV Medical Dramas Are Donating All Their Gowns, Gloves, & Masks to Real Hospitals Fighting COVID-19
The doctors are fake, but the supplies are real. Which is why the production crews are donating it all to real hospitals and firefighters combatting the COVID-19 outbreaks. “At Station 19, we were lucky enough to have about 300 of the coveted N95 masks, which we donated to our local fire station. They were tremendously grateful,” Krista Vernoff, the showrunner for both series, said in a statement to TV Guide. “At Grey’s Anatomy, we have a backstock of gowns and gloves which we are donating as well,” she added. “We are all overwhelmed with gratitude for our healthcare workers during this incredibly difficult time, and in addition to these donations, we are doing our part to help them by staying home.” According to TV Guide, Vancouver-based medical drama The Good Doctor is working with local government officials to donate an undisclosed amount of medical supplies from their film set to hospitals and organizations in need.
